A Bridgeport gentleman is hunting for health-related help for his brother who was still left comatose immediately after he was hit by a car or truck in Antigua.
Michael Simon, of Bridgeport, claims his brother Andre was struck by a car May possibly 8 when training with fellow customers of Antigua’s nationwide biking staff.
“He has gained heaps of medals, traveled to Cuba. He even experienced his photo on the front of our telephone guides,” claimed Michael Simon.
Andre Simon not long ago moved again to Antigua soon after finishing his degree in New York. His brother states Andre Simon was thrown into the air by the crash.
“No damaged bones, but mainly because his head strike the back again of the automobile, the prime of the hood gave him that [traumatic brain] injuries,” Michael Simon reported.
The cyclist experienced three seizures on the way to the clinic and had to be revived following six minutes of cardiac arrest. Following months in the ICU, Andre is steady, but continue to in a vegetative state.
“He’s not just unresponsive, he has flickering of the eyes, he’s sensitive to touch, so he is battling,” reported his brother.
Michael Simon says Andre Simon can’t get the treatment he requires in Antigua. He says his brother hasn’t experienced an MRI yet, because the clinic has not experienced a functioning equipment.
“I am even hoping today, I read news that the device was gonna get fastened, the part obtained to Antigua and they are functioning on it,” he reported.
Having said that, that is not specified and transporting him to an American clinic would come at a staggering price.
“Just from the airlift by itself they are asking for $56,000 U.S.,” claimed Michael Simon.
“To get him to that condition the place he can converse to his son all over again, because he is a father,” he reported.
