Law enforcement responded to the gas station Wednesday evening and uncovered East struggling from a wound to the upper body, police said. He afterwards died of his accidents.
Trent William Milsap was identified as a principal suspect in the fatal stabbing and authorities received a warrant for his arrest Friday, the release stated.
A SWAT group was requested mainly because of “the amount of violence (Milsap) experienced been exhibiting,” law enforcement mentioned. As authorities attempted to arrest Milsap, he allegedly became confrontational, was shot and afterwards died at a hospital, according to police.
A police K-9 that was deployed at the scene also sustained a non-lifetime threatening gunshot wound, police said.
“At the time of the officer concerned shooting, Milsap was on parole for armed theft and had an fantastic warrant for his arrest for an unrelated parole violation,” law enforcement said.
The motive in the stabbing is not acknowledged, police extra.
Westminster police, the Orange County District Attorney’s Business and the Justice Office will be investigating the officer-included taking pictures, the launch reported.
