Hurricane six-cylinder

Stellantis has unveiled a new engine, called the Hurricane. It is a twin-turbocharged 3.-liter inline-6 motor that is as strong as a more substantial V8, but with greater gasoline overall economy and less emissions.

Stellantis has created two variations of the new 6-cylinder motor. The Regular Output version is optimized for gas financial state, but even now generates a healthful 400 horsepower and 450 pound-toes of torque. The Large Output variation is geared for improved overall performance and generates 500 hp and 475 lb-ft.

The two variations have a great torque curve, which sees 90% of the torque accessible from 2,350 rpm.

Stellantis claims that the very first products to get the new engine will arrive later this calendar year, but it hasn’t verified which kinds. The motor has also been designed to do the job with its long term designs that are dependent on the new STLA Huge and STLA Body platforms. This suggests that the motor could replace the current 5.7-liter Hemi V8 that powers the Ram 1500 and Jeep Grand Wagoneer.
