Vigil held in Koreatown after two brothers struck by car, one dies


An emotional vigil was held Tuesday evening in Koreatown just after two brothers were struck by a car, killing just one of them.

Wilder Accip, 18, and Leonidas Accip, 38, have been using their bikes, heading to perform their change at Paris Baguette, when surveillance movie displays a white Jeep Cherokee slam into them without having halting. Wilder endured minor injuries, but Leo died at the scene, in entrance of Wilder. 

“My brother is dead. I have no terms. It took place in front of me. I saw it,” stated Wilder in Spanish. 

Wilder describes his brother, Leo, as helpful and serene. Colleagues from Paris Baguette who showed up for the vigil explained Leo the same way, and stated he was a challenging worker far too. 

Wilder mentioned Leo and their other brother all lived jointly, and immigrated listed here from Guatemala. They are the only family members customers living in the United States and are near-knit.

The family members is asking for assist on Go Fund Me with funeral bills and to assistance return Leo to Guatemala. The fundraiser was previously close to reaching its $10,000 target by Tuesday evening.

Investigators feel the auto involved in the crash was documented stolen and that the hit-and-run driver never ever stopped to enable.
